Brazil's foreign ministry on the 26th recalled its ambassador to Argentina,
Julio Bitelli, to protest Argentine President Javier Milei's recent conduct in
Brazil. Milei attended the Liberal Party national convention in São Paulo on the
25th, sharply criticized President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and said Supreme
Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes had blocked his attempt to visit jailed former
president Jair Bolsonaro. The Liberal Party formally nominated Bolsonaro's son
Flavio Bolsonaro as its presidential candidate at the gathering.
