China has become the core of the green, low‑carbon ship sector as global
shipping decarbonization and strict EU rules drive demand; Chinese new
green-ship orders have accounted for over 68% of the global market for three
consecutive years. Analysts estimate the global ship propulsion market will
reach about $39.7 bln by 2026, with Chinese-made engines capturing roughly 43%
of that market. Industry forecasts say continued expansion of domestic
green-propulsion capacity will boost the international competitiveness of
Chinese low‑carbon marine main engines.
