Shanghai Securities Association on July 27 reported that as of end-1H 2026 there
were 834 securities broker branches in Shanghai. Shanghai-region
Shanghai-Shenzhen A-share trading volume was 109.53 tln yuan, up 128.4% YoY; the
largest branch traded 10.14 tln yuan and 14 branches exceeded 1 tln yuan.
Nationwide Shanghai-Shenzhen A-share volume was 314.95 tln yuan, with Shanghai
accounting for 34.78% of the total, up 4.66 percentage points YoY. Client assets
at Shanghai broker branches totaled 16.79 tln yuan, up 32.7% YoY; the largest
branch held 1.46 tln yuan (8.7%). Shanghai branches opened 3.68 mln new funded
accounts in 1H, up 47.8% YoY; the top branch added 1.11 mln accounts.
