Two earthquakes struck Xinghai County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,
Qinghai on July 28: a M5.7 at 11:16 (35.35N, 99.57E; depth 10 km) and a M5.8 at
11:34 (35.35N, 99.58E). No casualties reported so far. Local government set up a
temporary command and initiated a Level-3 emergency response, dispatching teams
to townships to verify casualties and damage. Preliminary checks show damage to
buildings and road infrastructure across seven townships; the epicentral area is
near Duoba village in Wenquan township and Marimao village in Longzang township.
