The National Energy Administration said at a press briefing that as of end-June
China’s wind and solar installed capacity reached 1.95 TW, up 16.8% YoY. Wind
and solar generation exceeded 1.2 tln kWh in 1H, about one-quarter of total
electricity use. Coal-fired generation was 2.5 tln kWh, with its share of total
generation slipping to 49.7% — the first time below 50% for the period.
