China’s total electricity consumption rose 5.3% YoY in 1H, the National Energy Administration said. Korea Exchange has begun technical checks on a temporary short-selling ban and narrowed daily price limits as a high-intensity option to counter a sharp market fall, Yonhap Infomax reported. Yonhap Infomax cited a person familiar saying only technical feasibility has been confirmed and the review is an exploratory check of tools to ease volatility rather than a decision to implement; KRX held internal discussions on feasibility and system lead time on the afternoon of the 29th.
