Bank of England Governor Bailey said officials are split between acting quickly and waiting, and that the Bank can reasonably wait to see how developments unfold. He warned that waiting until all second‑round effects have emerged would be too late, but said the timing of any action remains uncertain. He added that market conditions are a key input to assessments of QT and urged markets not to assume the Bank is close to raising rates.
