Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said the Fed’s move toward less-detailed forward guidance and a more opaque decision process is not intended to catch investors off guard. "Creating surprises is not our aim," he said, adding that dialing back granular policy cues gives traders more room to price policy from incoming economic data rather than pre-guess Fed moves, and helps the Fed assess how investors are interpreting economic developments.
