BERENBERG economist Felix Schmidt said eurozone Q2 GDP rose 0.4% QoQ, beating
consensus and improving on Q1’s zero growth — a positive signal for the ECB. PMI
readings point to a solid start to Q3. Schmidt warned inflation dynamics — and
thus policy pressure — will depend heavily on the Iran conflict and energy
prices; if the US and Iran agree a ceasefire, the ECB could keep policy rates
unchanged and the eurozone could achieve robust growth in 2026.
