The Hill reported that despite growing Republican unease about a widening war
and its impact on energy prices, Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked a motion
to discharge a Senate Foreign Relations Committee measure to the floor that
would have required Trump to withdraw U.S. forces from hostilities with Iran
without congressional authorization. The motion was defeated 49-50. Thursday's
vote was the Senate's 13th on Iran war-powers measures; Republicans had
previously blocked 11 attempts to halt the hostilities.
