President Trump said a peace committee reached an agreement for the complete
disarmament of Hamas and all armed groups in Gaza. The deal foresees Gaza
governed by a new Palestinian government working with the peace committee and
provides Israel with security guarantees, including that Gaza will no longer be
used as a base for terrorist attacks. Implementation will be phased; once
disarmament is complete Israeli forces will withdraw and an international
stabilization force will cooperate with a new Palestinian police to secure Gaza
for residents and neighboring states. Trump described the accord as a milestone
in his 20-point plan and said further work remains.
