China's National Council for Social Security Fund reported local pension funds earned 142.07 bln yuan in investment income in 2025, a 5.76% return. Since entrusted operations began in December 2016 the funds have generated cumulative investment income of 554.43 bln yuan, an annualized return of 5.14%, about 2.51 percentage points above the guaranteed minimum annual return of 2.63%. The council said it continues to pursue long-term, value and responsible investment and to manage the funds prudently to preserve and grow assets.
