SK Hynix and its Korean union held a fifth round of bonus talks on Tuesday at
the company’s Cheongju plant and remain deadlocked over the size and structure
of a generous bonus package. Last year SK Hynix agreed to allocate 10% of annual
operating profit to employees; a Reuters calculation implies that would amount
to about KRW 779 mln per employee for 2026 (≈$547,127). In a notice to members
the union said management proposes paying more than half the bonus in stock with
sale restrictions and reserves the right to adjust payouts if the company posts
a loss; the union said it will not accept any arrangement that forces members to
bear share-price risk.
