U.S. Treasury raised its net marketable borrowing estimate for Q3 2026 (July–Sept.) to $739bn, assuming a Sept. 30 cash balance of $950bn. The estimate is $68bn higher than the May projection, primarily due to lower expected net cash inflows. The Treasury expects Q4 (Oct–Dec) financing of $628bn, assuming a Dec. 31 cash balance of $850bn. Financing for Q2 (Apr–June) 2026 was $190bn, roughly in line with May’s $189bn estimate. More details on quarterly financing will be released Aug. 5 at 8:30 a.
