China A-shares extended gains in the afternoon session: Shenzhen Composite Index +2.0%, ChiNext Index +1.85%, Shanghai Composite Index +1.4%. More than 3,600 stocks advanced.

At the morning close, China's main futures contracts were mixed with more advances than declines. Platinum rose over 7%, palladium over 6%, Shanghai silver over 5%, urea over 4%, coking coal about 3%, and Shanghai lead and coke over 2%. On the downside, container-shipping Europe-route futures fell more than 9%, Shanghai crude (SC) dropped over 6%, ethylene glycol, benzene and styrene (EB) fell over 5%, bottle-grade PET chip was nearly 5% lower, and p-xylene and LPG were down more than 4%.
