By midday close, China's main futures contracts were mostly higher: platinum up
more than 9%, palladium up over 8%, Shanghai silver up over 7%, urea, coking
coal and Shanghai gold up over 3%, Shanghai lead and lithium carbonate up more
than 2%. Lagging contracts included container shipping Europe route down over
9%, ethylene glycol (EG) down over 6%, Shanghai crude (SC) down nearly 6%,
benzene down over 5%, styrene (EB) down nearly 5%, and PET chips, LPG and
propylene down more than 4%.
