U.S. stocks closed mixed on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.49%, the S&P 500 fell 0.17% and the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.80%. SpaceX dropped 13.6%. NVIDIA gained 3.4%, SK Hynix fell 2.0%, AMD slid 7.0% and SanDisk declined 5.0%. The Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index fell 1.08%; XPeng and NIO were down about 2%.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange said it will add MINIMAX-W, Luxshare Precision and Sanhuan Group to the Hong Kong Stock Connect eligible list, effective Aug. 6.

China Gold Association data show domestic gold ETF inflows in 1H 2026 totaled 28.677 tonnes, down 66.17% YoY. Domestic gold ETF holdings were 276.529 tonnes at end-June 2026. China increased official gold reserves by 40.12 tonnes in 1H 2026, bringing total reserves to 2,346.45 tonnes at end-June and ranking fifth globally. China has added to official gold reserves for 20 consecutive months from November 2024 through June 2026.
