Federal Reserve official Kashkari told CNBC he remains open to future policy options but does not favor large rate increases. He said most recent inflation stems from supply shocks with some demand contribution and that his aim is to lower inflation, not slow the economy. Kashkari said it is time to begin raising rates gradually but opposed aggressive hikes, and stressed the value of continuing to explain the Fed's policy reaction function to the public, warning there is no 'magic' meeting count that dictates action.
