Haidian district has gathered more than 30 core brain–computer interface (BCI) companies, about 60% of China’s total, and has formed a full-chain innovation ecosystem from basic research to clinical application, the Zhongguancun Science City management committee said. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period Haidian will promote a BCI clinical-translation industry innovation center, leverage a global med‑health incubation platform and dedicated funds to accelerate R&D, clinical validation and commercialization of invasive and semi‑invasive BCIs, and push scale deployment and scenario expansion for non‑invasive BCIs to establish a global industry benchmark.
