China Securities Association’s International Business Committee (expanded) met in Beijing on Aug. 3 to advance plans for building first-class, Chinese-style investment banks and institutions. The committee reported stage progress on cross-border data and cross-border capital work and set H2 research priorities: universal global investment bank development models, boutique/specialist investment banks and service providers, overseas investment bank internationalization strategies and governance, functional roles of overseas securities firms, international regulatory frameworks for securities institutions, and using FTZ pilots to support high-quality development. It said, with regulatory support and guidance, it will produce high-quality industry research and policy recommendations to move from identifying to solving cross-border operational and internationalization issues for the securities sector.
