Lao hydropower began flowing to China's Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay
Area today via the China‑Laos 500 kV interconnection; deliveries are scheduled
to continue through end‑October, totaling about 600 mln kWh. The power will be
traded in the southern regional electricity market. China Electric Power News
said the move marks the first overseas renewable project to access China’s power
market and reflects stronger China‑Laos cross‑border power coordination and
improved cross‑regional clean‑energy allocation.
