At the midday close, most main contracts on China’s futures exchanges were higher. SHFE gold jumped over 3%; coke rose nearly 3%; iron ore, SHFE silver and red dates gained more than 2%; live hogs and eggs were up about 2%; fuel oil climbed over 1%. On the downside, SHFE nickel, propylene and methanol fell more than 2%; polypropylene monthly-average, stainless steel, polypropylene and LPG dropped over 1%.

Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) has been granted an additional about 25 mln wet tonnes (wmt) RKAB nickel-ore quota for H2 2026. Including H1 approvals, WBN’s 2026 total RKAB quota rises to about 37 mln wmt; as one of Indonesia’s largest nickel-ore suppliers, the extra quota is expected to further secure feedstock for downstream smelters in H2.
