Wall Street Journal reports U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is urging the Commerce Department to explain a planned adjustment to inflation data that is expected to lower inflation readings and could affect interest rates. Warren says the department must publicly disclose the rationale and process for the adjustment.

China Customs said imports of bulk commodities rose 3% YoY in the first seven months of the year; metal ore imports rose 8.2% YoY.
