The China Earthquake Administration said the China Earthquake Networks Center
(CENC) recorded a M4.9 earthquake at 13:08 on Aug. 7, 2026 in Gao County, Yibin,
Sichuan (28.51°N, 104.67°E); focal depth 6 km. The administration activated a
level-4 emergency response, dispatching CENC and the Sichuan provincial
earthquake bureau for emergency handling and ordering joint consultations,
intensified seismic monitoring and assessment, and timely reporting of
developments.
