China's State Council approved the People's Bank of China and Bank Negara
Malaysia's renewal of a bilateral local-currency swap, expanding the facility
from CNY180 bln/MYR110 bln to CNY220 bln/MYR130 bln. The agreement runs five
years and is extendable by mutual consent. Authorities said the move is intended
to deepen monetary and financial cooperation, expand use of local currencies in
China-Malaysia trade and investment, and support financial market stability.
