On Aug 6, Guangdong province issued 2.5 bln yuan of offshore RMB local
government bonds in the Macau SAR via a local bookbuilding, registration,
custody and listing — its sixth consecutive year placing bonds in Macau. The
deal drew subscriptions from monetary authorities, commercial and investment
banks and asset managers across Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand,
Indonesia and Japan. Peak orders totaled 23.2 bln yuan, implying a bid-cover
ratio of 9.3x and setting a record for Macau local bond issuance subscriptions.
