He accused the US and Israel of trying to drive a wedge between Iran and its Gulf neighbours, said US forces used regional bases to strike Iran, and said Iran had taken defensive measures.

Markets rose in morning trade. At midday, Shanghai Composite +0.49%, Shenzhen Composite Index +1.31%, ChiNext +1.75%. CRO stocks led gains with Baihua Pharmaceuticals posting a fourth consecutive daily limit-up. PCB names saw multiple limit-ups, including Jingwang Electronics and Hongban Technology. Rare-earth permanent-magnet names were active, with China Rare Earth hitting the daily limit. CPO, minor metals, components and electronic chemicals outperformed. Digital currency, grain, property, coal and gaming sectors lagged. About 3,000 stocks declined and half-day turnover exceeded 1.6 trillion yuan.
