Elon Musk said Starlink’s third-generation satellites (V3), planned to be
launched by Starship, would deliver roughly an order-of-magnitude improvement in
overall performance versus the current Falcon-launched second-generation (V2)
fleet. He said SpaceX plans to deploy an order-of-magnitude larger V3 fleet and
later iterations alongside remaining V2 and handset-direct satellites, raising
total bandwidth to more than 100x that of V2. Musk forecast V2’s ARR this year
at $20bn and said SpaceX’s communications revenue could exceed $200bn even if
revenue per gigabit falls to one-tenth.
