Syrian Foreign Ministry said Syria and Russia will begin restructuring Russia's coastal presence in Syria under a memorandum framework, the Syrian state news agency SANA reported.

The combined upward pull from these nine industries fell by 0.56 ppts versus June. The largest downward drags were electricity and heat production and supply, automobile manufacturing, non-metallic mineral products, pharmaceutical manufacturing and beverages/refined tea (declines 2.3%–5.7%), which together subtracted ~0.76 ppts from PPI YoY, a 0.05 ppt smaller drag than in June.

U.S. Treasury on Friday froze assets of offshore companies tied to Florida oil magnate and Republican donor Harry Sargeant III that participate in Venezuelan oil production, sources said, and issued a license allowing the liquidation of his interests in those entities. Sargeant has served as a confidential conduit between Washington and Caracas—meeting President Maduro and other senior officials—and used that role to pursue oil deals in Venezuela that most firms avoided due to political risk and sanctions; he also helped secure the 2025 release of a detained U.S. citizen.
