Reuters: South Korea will launch a KRW5 trillion ($3.52 bln) semiconductor fund to invest in chip materials, components and fabless firms, presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik said. The government will also supply KRW5 trillion in trade financing to support export-oriented suppliers. Seoul aims to pass the Super-Large Special Industrial Park Act within the year to speed permitting, environmental reviews and infrastructure build-out. Authorities plan to guarantee 650,000 tonnes of water for Honam semiconductor projects by 2030, and to provide 14.7 GW of planned power to the Yongin semiconductor cluster by 2041.
