A Houthi drone attack on the 10th against a government army position in Shabwah province in southeast Yemen killed three soldiers and wounded nine, a government officer said. UN special envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg said on social media he is deeply concerned by the recent surge in Houthi attacks on government-held areas and warned the latest developments could push Yemen back into full-scale conflict.

Todd Blanche was sworn in as US attorney general on Aug 10. President Trump announced on April 2 that Pam Bondi would no longer serve and that Blanche would act as attorney general. The White House submitted Blanche’s nomination to the Senate on June 8. The Senate confirmed him in the early hours of Aug 8 by a 50-49 vote.
