Ministry of Natural Resources' Tsunami Warning Center preliminarily located a M7.5 earthquake in the Colombian sea at 20:34 Beijing time on Aug 10, 2026 (4.91°N, 75.93°W), depth 15 km. Exact parameters will be confirmed by CENC. The center says the quake could generate a local tsunami near the epicenter but is not expected to affect China’s coast. The center will continue to monitor seismic and tsunami data and issue updates as needed.
