China’s foreign ministry special envoy for Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, visited Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan from July 30 to Aug. 8, 2026. In Turkey he held consultations with the director-general for South Asia at Turkey’s foreign ministry on matters of mutual concern. In Pakistan and Afghanistan he met relevant officials to discuss promoting improved development ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
