Analyst James Glynn says revised Reserve Bank of Australia forecasts point to a policy setting close to comfortable. The RBA has raised its unemployment path to 4.5% by December from 4.3% previously, cut its headline CPI forecast to 3.6% by December from 4.0%, and lowered trimmed‑mean inflation to 3.3% by December from 3.5%, with trimmed mean expected to reach 2.4% by June 2028. Glynn says the direction of these revisions is consistent with the RBA nearing the end of its tightening cycle.
