Foreign media, citing sources, report UAE state oil company ADNOC is proposing
to help Iraq export crude that would bypass the Strait of Hormuz via ‘dark’
ship-to-ship transshipments, moving Basra cargoes to Asian refiners. Sources say
the plan would use short-haul rendezvous in the Persian Gulf with vessels
reportedly switching off AIS before transferring cargo offshore; ADNOC is a
leading Persian Gulf crude exporter.
