Lazard's survey shows private equity secondary-market investors are reassessing
software investments and reallocating capital while awaiting clearer evidence of
AI-driven disruption to business models and valuations. 91% of respondents said
the main moat against AI replacing software products is "proprietary data
advantages and network effects difficult for AI to replicate." Only 4% reported
no change to their software investment approach as of June.
