On Aug 15 the Consular Affairs Department of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said no foreign casualties have been reported following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake at 04:58:24 local time off Nagekeo regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The epicenter was about 38 km northeast of Mbay at a depth of 15 km. The quake briefly carried a tsunami risk and prompted coastal evacuations. The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that as of 11:00 Central Indonesia Time (WITA) 111 aftershocks had been recorded, the latest magnitude 3.8, and seismic activity is continuing. The tsunami warning was lifted at 07:31. Remaining risks are aftershocks and damage to buildings.
