The Russian Defence Ministry’s 24‑hour combat report on Aug. 16 said Russian forces seized Pershomarievka in Donetsk region and Kudievka in Kharkiv region, and that air defences shot down 14 guided aerial bombs, one US‑made HIMARS rocket, nine "Flamingo" long‑range cruise missiles and 1,478 fixed‑wing UAVs — the highest single‑day tally the ministry has announced.
