Hong Kong-listed chip stocks advanced: Huahong Hongli (01347.HK) and Xinqi Microassembly (09630.HK) rose over 6%, SMIC (00981.HK) and GigaDevice (03986.HK) climbed more than 5%, and Montage Technology (06809.HK) gained 4.6%.

Caitong Fuxin interval open-end mixed fund rose over 5%.

CITIC Securities notes that on Aug. 10, 2026 Hang Seng Indexes Company consulted on a proposed methodology overhaul for the Hang Seng Tech Index. Key changes: expand thematic coverage by removing the prior industry-classification requirement, revise six tech themes and increase sub-themes from 16 to 24; introduce a grouped selection mechanism and widen the selection universe to constituents of the Hang Seng Composite LargeMidCap Index. Constituents would rise from 30 to 50, with 40 selected by market-cap ranking and 10 by a revenue-growth group. CITIC estimates roughly 10 market-cap names (including CATL) and about 10 revenue-growth names could be added. Estimated passive inflows to newly included stocks total about HKD36.0 bln, split ~HKD28.5 bln to the market-cap group and ~HKD7.5 bln to the revenue-growth group. CITIC calls the adjustment a significant event and recommends focusing on potential inclusions for long candidates while monitoring deletion candidates for downside risk.
