The National Forestry and Grassland Administration said since the intensified
Three-North campaign began authorities have allocated 88.9 bln yuan in central
investment and implemented 544 key projects, completing on average more than 80
mln mu of construction annually. Project-area forest and grass coverage reached
40.76% (up 1.13 ppt versus 2020); the treatment rate of controllable desertified
land rose to 67.82% (up 12.78 ppt). Mid-term targets of the program’s
sixth-phase plan have been fully met.
