China's Premier Li chaired a State Council meeting on Aug. 17 and ordered faster
implementation of the 'six networks' construction plan and quicker deployment of
policy funds to produce early tangible project output. He stressed keeping the
economy stable by expanding domestic demand, targeting long, large-value
industrial chains and sectors where concentrated effort can strengthen the
domestic circulation. The meeting called for innovating financing to attract
social capital, coordinating investment in people with measures to boost
consumption, and tilting policy resources toward investment and consumption. It
urged stronger support for private investment, emerging industries, new-type
infrastructure and consumption-upgrade projects.
