China's National Bureau of Statistics said industrial value added at firms above designated size rose 5.3% YoY in Jan–Jul. By sector, mining +2.5% YoY, manufacturing +5.6%, utilities +5.4%. Equipment manufacturing rose 9.7% and high‑technology manufacturing 13.8%, outperforming the overall pace by 4.4 and 8.5 ppts respectively. By ownership, value added was: state‑controlled +3.9% YoY, joint‑stock +5.8%, foreign/HK/Macau/Taiwan‑invested +3.1%, private +4.5%. Key product outputs Jan–Jul: 3D printers +52.3% YoY, lithium‑ion batteries +40.2%, industrial robots +28.5%. In July, industrial value added was up 4.5% YoY and 0.11% MoM. July manufacturing PMI 49.2; business expectations index 54.1. Jan–Jun total profits at industrial firms above designated size were 3.948 tln yuan, up 18.7% YoY.
