The Baltic Dry Index (BDI) rose for a second session, up 15 points (0.52%) to
2,878 as gains in Capesize freight outweighed weakness in Panamax rates. The
Capesize index (BCI) climbed 52 points (1.2%) to 4,590; Capesize daily earnings
rose $470 to $38,122. The Panamax index (BPI) fell 22 points (1%) to 2,206, its
lowest since Aug. 4; Panamax daily earnings dropped $202 to $19,853. Supramax
(BSI) added 6 points (0.4%) to 1,628, a high since July 28. Handysize (BHSI)
slipped 2 points to 864.
