SoftBank Group plans to sell about ¥1 trillion (≈$6.3 bln) in corporate bonds to
Japanese retail investors, which would be the largest retail bond offering by a
Japanese company. The seven-year issue would be SoftBank's third retail bond
sale this year after April and June. Terms, including the coupon, are to be set
in early September; analysts expect a coupon above 4%. SoftBank says proceeds
will be used for bond redemptions and investments in physical AI (including
corporate acquisitions); the company has previously announced a $5.4 bln bid for
ABB’s robotics unit.
