Aug 17 — The Huatai Zijin Huazhu Anzhu closed-end commercial real estate
securities investment fund received CSRC registration approval and passed
Shenzhen Stock Exchange review, becoming the exchange’s first hotel-type
commercial REIT. Fund manager is Huatai Securities (Shanghai) Asset Management
Co.; sponsor and operator is Shanghai Anzhu Cijian Business Information
Consulting Co. Underlying assets are Huazhu-branded hotels: Mercure and Ji Hotel
projects at Guangzhou Tianhe Sports Center, and the Wanda Orange Crystal Hotel
project in Jiangqiao, Shanghai. Hotel REITs remain scarce in China’s public REIT
market; the approval expands investible REIT product supply for market
participants.
