MSCI emerging markets index ended a four-day advance, falling 0.7%, with losses
led by Samsung Electronics and TSMC. The EM currency index retreated from record
highs, down 0.1%, as the dollar strengthened for the first time in four days. A

Turner, ING global markets head, said a large-scale sell-off in the US long bond
market is typically negative for EM currencies and overall risk.
