Hong Kong stocks recovered from an early dip; the Hang Seng Index was up 0.24%
at 25,533.38 at mid-session while the Hang Seng TECH Index fell 0.82% to
4,700.55. Semiconductors led sector declines; electronic components and
communications shares were weaker. High-dividend names, oil & gas and mainland
property stocks outperformed. Big movers: Baidu (09888.HK) fell nearly 12% after
results; China Unicom (00762.HK) dropped 7.8% post-results. Larger declines
included Juxing Legend (06683.HK) -13.3%, Huahong Hongli (01347.HK) and
Cambridge Technology (06166.HK) down over 12%, UBTECH (09880.HK) -10%, Zhongji
Xuchuang (03308.HK) and Yangtze Optical Fibre & Cable (06869.HK) down over 9%,
GigaDevice (03986.HK), MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) and Kingboard Laminates (01888.HK)
down more than 7%. On the upside, Xiaomi Group (01810.HK) rose about 7%, Meituan
(03690.HK) gained over 3%, Agricultural Bank of China (01288.HK), CITIC Bank
(00998.HK) and PetroChina (00857.HK) were up around 2%, while Pop Mart
(09992.HK) and Tencent Holdings (00700.HK) rose just over 1%.
