On Aug 19, 2026 in Beijing, China foreign minister Wang Yi met Chile foreign
minister Pérez. They agreed to maintain exchanges at all levels and consolidate
high‑level trust, offering mutual support on issues of core interest. China said
it is willing to deepen cooperation around APEC "China Year", accelerate
construction of an Asia-Pacific community and an Asia-Pacific free-trade area,
align development strategies and steadily advance existing cooperation projects.
Both sides flagged plans to deepen collaboration in artificial intelligence and
the digital economy and to promote multilateralism within a UN-centered
international order.
