Two U.S. officials told Axios the U.S. military has quietly established a
shipping lane through the Strait of Hormuz, moving roughly 10 million barrels
per day into global energy markets. The operation has run for several weeks,
with about 15–20 tankers using a southern route along Oman's coast. Officials
said flows are roughly half of pre-war volumes; the U.S.-led action is easing a
major war-related supply disruption that had driven crude sharply higher, and is
already having a noticeable impact on global oil supply despite remaining below
pre-war levels.
