A tropical depression in the South China Sea made landfall near Longlou town,
Wenchang, Hainan at about 05:40 on the 20th, with maximum winds near the center
of 6 on the scale (12 m/s) and central pressure 997 hPa. The system is forecast
to move westward across Wenchang, Haikou, Chengmai, Lingao and Danzhou and enter
the Beibu Gulf by the afternoon to evening of the 20th, bringing heavy rain to
northern and western Hainan.
